UK pubcaster BBC1 has ordered a new fact-ent series from FremantleMedia UK-owned prodco Boundless that aims to reconnect British landlords with their tenants.

Tentatively titled Landlords, the 3 x 60-minute series will challenge landlords to step into the shoes of their tenants as they spend one week living in one of their own rental properties.

Kat Lennox serves as exec producer alongside series producer Emily Smith. The series was ordered by BBC1 commissioning editor of documentaries Maxine Watson.

“As more people and councils turn to the private sector to provide accommodation, this timely series¬†asks what kind of social and moral obligations bind today’s landlords,” said Watson in a statement.

Landlords (w/t) is a transformative and revealing series that will give an honest and emotive insight into ‘generation rent’ though the landlords immersive experience, exploring the ever-increasing gap between renters and their landlords,” added Boundless MD Hannah Wyatt¬†(pictured).
