Hollywood execs Mark Itkin, Lauren Zalaznick (pictured, left) and Frank Biondi (right) have joined Critical Content’s board of directors.
The newly established board will work with the pair to transform the shop from a domestic producer into an international studio.
The board members include Mark Itkin, former co-head of television at talent agency William Morris Endeavor; former HBO and Universal Studios CEO Frank Biondi; former NBC Universal executive VP Lauren Zalaznick; iHeartMedia Entertainment Enterprises president John Sykes; Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein; and Tom Forman, CEO of Critical Content. The board chair is investment banker Al Aguirre.
Since launching at the beginning of the year, Critical has been forging deals, including a co-development deal with gamer-focused online video platform Machinima that will see the two parties collaborate on unscripted and scripted projects.
The company has also inked deals with with Amsterdam-based Lineup Industries to produce formats, and several overall deals with prodcos that include Howie Mandel’s Alevy Productions. Critical also produced the limited edition CBS true-crime series The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey.
