Laura Poitras (pictured), Tom Quinn and Stanley Nelson are among the speakers confirmed for DOC NYC’s eight-day industry conference.

The annual DOC NYC PRO takes place concurrently to the film festival, which runs from Nov. 10 to 17.

Poitras will be on hand to discuss Project X, a short film collaboration with journalist Henrik Moltke.

The Citizenfour director recently parted ways with investigative news site The Intercept and restructured her year-old visual journalism website Field of Vision as a stand-alone website.

Distributor and Raidus-TWC founder Quinn, who teamed up with Alamo Drafthouse’s Tim League to launch a new distribution label last year, will share wisdom from his career.

In addition to receiving DOC NYC’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Firelight Media founder and The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution director Stanley Nelson will give a talk about his approach to framing history.

Other sessions will feature Weiner directors Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg, O.J.: Made in America helmer Ezra Edelman, DP Kirsten Johnson, Impact Partners’ Dan Cogan and Jenny Raskin and directors Gary Hustwit, Jessica Edwards, Nanette Burnstein, Lyric R. Cabral, Matthew Heineman, among others.

New sessions this year include a day devoted to the makers of DOC NYC’s best-of-the-year Short List program (Nov. 11); Pitch Perfect Day, which connects docmakers with works-in-progress to funders and mentors (Nov. 14); and Only In New York meetings, which put filmmakers face-to-face with decision makers.

Other programming tracts include first-time doc makers day, documentary and journalism day, smart producing day, a day devoted to financing and two days devoted to craft.

For the full list of sessions and speakers, visit DOC NYC’s website. The complete lineup and screening schedule will be announced on Oct. 13.
