VIMN has sold dating format Ex On The Beach to Russian broadcaster Friday TV, which, according to Viacom, makes it the first MTV format to be locally adapted by a third party in the country. The 60 x 90-minute Russian version will debut in November and is being produced by Friends Productions.
Originally created by UK-based Whizz Kid Entertainment, the format has previously been adapted in Sweden, Finland, France and the Netherlands.
VIMN has also sold experimental dating show Are You The One? to Paris-based Adventure Line Productions, which is producing a local adaptation for French broadcaster NT1.
Due to premiere in 2017, the 50 x 40-minute series will air under the title 10 Couples Parfait and mark the first time the format has been adapted to air five nights a week.
The news comes after MTV Latin America ordered a 10 x 60-minute local version that will air on MTV across Mexico, Columbia and Argentina. It will also air on Televisa’s Canal5 starting in November. The format has also been picked up by Denmark’s Kanal 4 and MTV in Brazil.
Lastly, producer Zone 3 will adapt ‘how-to’ comedy reality format Guy Code in Canada. The 21 x 30-minute series will be called Code G and air in early 2017 on French-language broadcaster VRAK. The deal will also see Zone 3 produce a third season of MTV sister show Girl Code under the title Code F.
