Former eOne exec Peter Emerson has be named president of international producer-distributor Cineflix Media after Emerson acquired a minority stake in the Montreal-headquartered firm.

Based out of the company’s Toronto office, Emerson (pictured) will be charged with leading Cineflix’s growth initiatives alongside executive management. He reports to Cineflix co-founders and co-CEOs Glen Salzman and Katherine Buck.

Emerson most recently served as president of eOne Television International, where he was tasked with overseeing all aspects of the company’s international television activities, including sales, acquisitions, copros, production financing and strategic partnerships.

Prior to this, he founded sales house Oasis International and served as partner of Blueprint Productions, both of which were acquired by eOne in 2008 to form eOne Television.

Chris Bonney continues in his post as CEO of Cineflix Rights and Charles Tremayne as president of Cineflix Productions. Both will continue to report to Salzman.

Cineflix’s production credits include such long-running unscripted brands as American Pickers, Property Brothers and Mayday.

“[Emerson] brings a wealth of experience, industry relationships, and entrepreneurial vision that complement Cineflix’s growth strategy,” said Salzman and Buck in a joint statement.
