UK producer Zig Zag Productions has inked a deal with ABC International, the format sales division of Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, to adapt Japanese TV show segment Power of Fantasy for the international marketplace.

The hidden-camera format, which will be renamed Tearway Toys for international broadcasters, pranks unruly kids into believing their toys are talking to them and reveals the child’s innermost thoughts to an inanimate toy voiced live by a comedic presenter.

The series originally airs on Japan’s ABC as a segment on the long-running late night show Be-Bop! High Heel!.

The deal marks the latest in Zig Zag’s acquisitions of Japanese TV game show format adaptations for the international market, including Exit for Syfy and Ultimate Brain for CBBC.
