Nadiya Hussain, winner of season six of The Great British Bake Off, has signed up with the BBC to continue making films for The One Show and to develop a range of new BBC projects which will be announced in the near future. The partnership follows the announcement in September that The Great British Bake Off would be departing the pubcaster for Channel 4.

In a statement issued on her behalf by the BBC, Hussain said that making the pubcaster her home gives her the scope to work across a unique range of diverse and interesting projects.

“I’m delighted to announce that I will continue making films for The One Show as well as developing other exciting program ideas.”

In September the BBC confirmed that the forthcoming season of The Great British Bake Off would be the last to air on the BBC. The series, which is produced by Love Productions, will then move over to C4 for a three-year run. It will debut in 2017 with a celebrity spin-off, minus Hussain, in aid of Stand Up to Cancer.
