Networks in Poland and Norway have picked up distributor All3Media International’s factual entertainment format World of Weird.

Discovery took the local rights in Poland and pubcaster NRK will produce the Norweigan version.

The format was originally produced by Lion Television for Channel 4 in the UK and is currently on air. The British pubcaster ordered a six by one-hour run after the pilot episode attracted more than 1.1 million viewers.

Each episode follows a young presenter as they globetrot to immerse themselves in odd scenarios, such as working for a Japanese fake family rental agency or preparing for the apocalypse with doomsday preppers in the United States.

C4′s version is narrated by English comedian Sarah Millican and features Vicky Pattison, Joel Dommett, Ayo Akinwolere and Brent Zillwood of Undateables.

All3Media began shopping the format to international buyers at MIPCOM in Cannes, France this week.
