Factual entertainment channel Insight TV, which focuses on UHD content, has commissioned a new reality competition series from Dutch prodco Flare Media.

The Line is an original format in Ultra HD, the premise of which is simple: contestants must race 15 to 25 kilometers in a straight line, no matter the terrain. The challenge is set by placing the line across cities, suburbs, swamps, factories or even golf courses. Two teams of nine race form one end of the line to the other, starting at opposite ends.

The team to get to the end of the line faster than their opponents, whom they pass on the way, wins. The catch is, however, that though the line can be up to 25 kilometers long, it can never be more than 25 meters wide. Every time a team strays outside of that boundary it is penalized.

Insight TV was launched last year at MIPCOM ’15 by Netherlands-based TERN (Television Entertainment Reality Network) International. Created to target millennial viewers, it commissions and broadcasts more than 200 hours of new, original UHD content per year.
