NBCUniversal-owned net Oxygen Media will test the bonds of friendship in its latest competition series The Battle of the Ex-Besties.

Produced by Fly On The Wall Entertainment, the series follows fourteen former best friends who are forced to confront past differences for the chance to win a grand prize of US$100,000.

Hosted by Sibley Scoles, the series will put seven pairs of frenemies under the same roof while pushing them to revisit their pasts to overcome a variety of challenges. Teams that lose a challenge will have the option to compete for $50,000 or leave the competition for good. Two consecutive losses, meanwhile, will result in a straight elimination.

Fly On The Wall’s Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan serve as exec producers alongside Fishbowl Worldwide Media’s Rick De Oliveira, Haylee Vance, Vin Di Bona and Beth Greenwald.

“Viewers are thrust into these relationships that are already at their lowest points, opening the door for a number of possibilities for their friendships,” said Rod Aissa, executive VP of original programming and development for Oxygen Media, in a statement. “By adding a grand prize to the emotionally and physically-demanding experience, we are tapping into the drama that our audience loves.”

The Battle of the Ex-Besties is slated to premiere across Oxygen on Dec. 6 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
