NBCUniversal-owned broadcaster Oxygen Media has appointed former Twofour America exec Shanon Smith as VP of production and operations.

Based out of the net’s LA offices, Smith (pictured) will oversee the production slate for all original series and specials. She reports to David O’Connell, executive VP of production and operations for lifestyle networks.

Smith most recently served as EVP of production and operations at Catching Monsters producer Twofour America, where she was responsible for the production, finance and operations of a variety of series for such broadcasters as History, Discovery, ABC and Lifetime.

Prior to this, Smith served as director of production at OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, overseeing third-party productions.

Smith began her entertainment career in 2005 at NBCU sister net E! Entertainment as a line producer before rising to director of production management for E! Entertainment International, G4 Network and Style Network. There, she ran 30 series including American Ninja Warrior, Dr. 90210 and E! News in France, Italy and Asia.
