MTV International is set to produce a new format that will test the strength of relationships with permanent body art.

Just Tattoo of Us is a studio-based series that asks friends, family members and couples to design tattoos for each other — but they’ll only see the final designs once they’re inked on each other’s bodies and it’s too late to walk away.

The 7 x 60-minute series will be fronted by two hosts and six young tattoo artists with three pairs appearing on each episode for a total of 21 across the series.

Produced by London-based indie prodco Gobstopper TV, Just Tattoo of Us will air across MTV’s network of 62 international channels and digital platforms starting in spring 2017. The series is executive produced by Kate Bates (Geordie Shore, pictured).

“With six tattoo reveals per episode, I’m confident that Just Tattoo of Us will not only be a perfect fit for MTV’s reality portfolio, but it is also set to become the newest must-watch compulsive viewing format appealing to audiences around the world,” said Kerry Taylor, senior VP, youth and music, Viacom International Media Networks, the international division of MTV parent co, Viacom.
