Newen Distribution, the distribution arm of Paris-based Newen Group, has bolstered its executive ranks with the appointment of Malika Abdellaoui as its managing director.

In her new role, Abdellaoui will be charged with linking producers to foreign broadcasters for pre-sales opportunities while also contributing to projects with gap financing as the distributor’s international content sales slate continues to increase.

Most recently, Abdellaoui served as deputy director of television sales at EuropaCorp Group and was responsible for developing European co-production partnerships.

Prior to this, she held the title of head of multi-territory acquisitions for EMEA at The Walt Disney Company, and head of acquisitions at Disney Channel France.

“With Malika Abdellaoui’s arrival, our objective is to reach a new level by building key partnerships with producers who have international projects,” said Christophe Nobileau, deputy CEO of Newen and CEO of Newen Distribution, in a statement.
