Samantha Anstiss and Sam Bickley‘s unscripted division within BBC Studios has a new name and two new commissions.

The newly dubbed Auntie Productions launched two years ago with a mandate to develop programming across factual entertainment, documentary and factual drama within the UK pubcaster’s production arm.

This week, BBC2 has ordered two six-part doc series from the creative label.

In each episode of In Your Ear, cameras follow two Brits going through challenging life changes such as starting a new job or having a baby. To help them cope, they receive advice from a “cast of wise sages from around the UK and the globe.”

Meanwhile, Inside the World’s Most Extraordinary Hotels follows Giles Coren and Monica Galetti as they go behind-the-scenes with the workers that keep the world’s biggest and unique hotels running.

Anstiss and Bickley are former commissioners whose credits include Life and Death Row, Keeping Britain Alive, Don’t Take My Baby and The Food Inspectors.

Former Endemol, Oxford Film and Television and Blast! Films producer Charlie Nicholson is the head of development for Auntie Productions.
