Fred Peabody’s All Governments Lie: Truth, Deception and the Spirit of I.F. Stone will get U.S. distribution.

First Run Features announced its acquisition of the film, produced by Toronto’s White Pine Pictures, on Nov. 4,  the day of its New York and Los Angeles premieres.

The feature documentary, which follows investigative journalists as they expose corporate and government deception, debuted at TIFF in 2016.

The film was produced by Peter Raymont, Andrew Munger, and Steve Ord, with Raymont and Ord also executive producing alongside Oliver Stone and Jeff Cohen.

The deal was negotiated by Marc Mauceri of First Run Features and Ord, COO of White Pine Pictures.

All Governments Lie: Truth, Deception and the Spirit of I.F. Stone will next screen in Toronto at the Bloor Hot Docs Theatre from Dec. 9 – 16.
