The Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC), which taps the documentary, factual and unscripted industry Down Under,  has brought on board Pericles Films principal Andrew Wiseman as its CEO and conference director, replacing the outgoing Britt Arthur.

Wiseman (pictured) has spent more than 30 years as an independent producer and director and is credited with producing or co-producing such films as Kokoda and the Australian Film Institute Award-winning docs My Brother Jack and After the Deluge. He has also developed dramatic fiction films including Curtain and Waiting at the Royal.

The veteran filmmaker’s projects have screened internationally at such film festivals as the Venice Film Festival, Banff World Television Festival, Sydney Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival.

The AIDC runs March 5 to 8 in Melbourne, and was most-recently granted renewed funding support until 2020 from the Victorian Government and Film Victoria.
