Spike has hired Chaz Gray as executive producer of current, a newly created position.

He will oversee production on original series such as Bar Rescue, Back to the Bar, Ink Master and Ink Master: Redemption in addition to contributing to future series launches.

He will be based in Los Angeles and report to Chachi Senior, the Viacom-owned cable net’s senior VP of original series.

Gray’s executive producer credits include Top Chef, 36 Hours and The Real Housewives of Orange County 100th Episode Special. He has also produced on The Amazing Race, Last Comic Standing and The Road to Stardom with Missy Elliott.

Additionally, he previously worked as executive producer and director of development for Discovery Channel.

“Chaz is a seasoned producer in the non-fiction reality television world and we are excited for him to bring his experienced hand to our stable of series,” said Senior in a statement.

Earlier this year, the U.S. cable network promoted Tori Socha to VP of original series.
