British travelers with a penchant for hopping across the channel to their favorite European holiday spots will soon be getting some travel trips for Spain from TV host Alex Polizzi.

UK commercial broadcaster Channel 5 has added to its factual series roster with the Twofour-produced¬†Secret Spain, a spin-off of Polizzi’s access point into Italy with Secret Italy and Alex Polizzi’s Italian Islands.

The 6 x 60-minute episodes that make up the series will see viewers following Polizzi across Spain exploring the country’s history, culture, people and food as she travels through each Spanish region.

The series producer is Chris Williams, with Dan Adamson as executive producer. The show was commissioned by Channel 5′s Ben Frow.

In a note announcing the series, Adamson stated that the decision was aimed at fulfilling the British public’s love for Spain, with a hope to serve up fare through an insider’s lens.
