French doc producer/distributor ZED will distribute titles from streaming service CuriosityStream’s catalog.

Under the deal, the company will represent international rights for several original productions, including Deep Time History (3 x 52 minutes), Digits (three x 52 minutes) and Destination Pluto: Beyond the Fly By (one x 52 minutes, pictured).

ZED will also represent some forthcoming productions.

The company has secured deals for Deep Time History with Middle East network MBC Al Arabiya, Discovery Southern Europe for Italy and Spain, FTV Prima in the Czech Republic FTV Prima, and Russia’s Kultura TV.

Welt 24 in Germany has picked up Destination Pluto: Beyond the Fly By and FTV Prima has acquired Digits.

“Beyond a simple sales mandate, this agreement strengthens the close ties between our two companies, which are already bound by program supply and international coproductions agreements,” said ZED president Manuel Catteau in a statement.

The two companies have coproduced shows such as Living Universe (four x 52 minutes) and Sacred Spaces (four x 52 minutes and 15 x 26 minutes).

Ad-free factual streaming service CuriosityStream launched in 2015. It was founded by Discovery Channel founder and former Discovery Communications chairman John Hendricks and airs a mix of original and acquired programs about science, history and technology.
