In this week’s renewals’ round-up, new seasons are on the way for series on HGTV, CNBC, CITV and OWN.
Scripps Networks Interactive home lifestyle channel HGTV is bringing back Love It or List It (pictured) for its 10th season.
Produced by Toronto-based Big Coat Productions, designer Hilary Farr and real estate expert David Visentin will help a raft of new homeowners find a new way to love their home as renovated by Farr, or present a new home to buy (found by Visentin). This season features new challenges for the hosts, including houses with multiple attics, in-law suites, and basement and garage conversions. Season 10 bows Jan. 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
Elsewhere, CNBC will return the 495 Productions-made Blue Collar Millionaires for a sophomore run.
Narrated by country musician Tim McGraw, the 10 x 30-minute series takes a look at the hard-working individuals who haven’t been afraid to get a little dirty while making their fortunes. Viewers learn about each millionaire’s blue collar job, and then get a glimpse of the lavish lifestyle it affords them. The new season premieres Jan 4. at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CNBC.
Across the pond, UK commercial broadcaster ITV’s children’s channel CITV will welcome back Bear Grylls’ Survival School for a second season.
Produced by ITV Studios-owned prodco Potato and Bear Grylls Ventures, the program features Bear Grylls taking 10 kids, ages 12 – 15 years, on an adventure through the mountains of Snowdonia, Wales. Grylls hopes to impart wilderness survival skills and the universal skills of teamwork and perseverance the kids can carry with them for the rest of their lives. The new season airs on CITV and ITV on Jan. 7 at 8.30 a.m. GMT.
Finally, Green Harbor Productions’ lifestyle brand Home Made Simple will grace the airwaves of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network for a sixth season.
The Emmy-winning DIY series will feature host Jeremiah Brent as he builds homes for families in need. Each of the 20 episodes this season will highlight families and individuals whose homes are more than just places to live, but also valuable community resources. Episodes feature a couple in need of an office space for their animal rescue foundation and a family in need of a kitchen to provide weekly meals for the homeless. Season six debuts Jan. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.
