The 2017 edition of the Summit Showdown will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at the Marriott Marquis, hosted by Buddy Valastro (pictured), reality TV host and president of Cakehouse Media. Valastro’s newest series, Bakers vs. Fakers, is set to debut on Food Network Jan. 25 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The finalists who made it through an initial adjudication round will go head-to-head to impress our host of distinguished judges with their new concept for an unscripted/non-fiction series or non-fiction documentary/one-off in this interactive competition, always a standing-room only favorite at the Summit.
Live participants will be judged on the creativity and marketability of their concept in addition to the quality and execution of their pitch.
This year’s judging panel consists of: Mary Donahue, SVP, non-fiction programming, Lifetime Television; Nomi Ernst Leidner SVP, development, Viceland; Howard Lee, EVP development & production, TLC / GM, Discovery Life Channel, Discovery Communications; and Hamish Mykura, EVP, programming and development, National Geographic Channel International.
