IM Global Television has bolstered its international distribution and copro teams with the hires of industry execs Tyler Massey and Betty Chen.

Massey (pictured, left) re-joins IM Global as VP of international distribution and copros after a two-year stint of running MassMedia International, his own content distribution and development company.

In his new role, Massey, who first worked with the L.A.-based company as a consultant, will oversee IM Global’s growing distribution slate of films, unscripted and scripted formats in Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Turkey and Greece. Additionally, he will be tasked with setting up international co-development and copros for scripted and unscripted projects in the U.S. and abroad.

Previously, he served as executive director of international sales at Amsterdam-based prodco Eyeworks, launching such formats as Celebrity Splash! and Adam Looking for Eve. Prior to this, he held the title of director of international sales at GRB Entertainment.

Chen (right), formerly VP of business affairs at ITV Global Entertainment, has been tapped by as senior VP of business affairs for international distribution and copro. In the role, she will oversee digital and linear distribution, format licensing, and third party content acquisitions, while also growing the company’s scripted and unscripted copro business with Chinese partners.

Prior to ITV Global Entertainment, Chen spent seven years at Endemol Shine International as VP of business affairs, overseeing all business affairs functions in LA, including content acquisitions, format licensing, and network deals in Latin America and Asia Pacific, with an emphasis on China.

“In Betty and Tyler we have added two hard working and we’ll reputed professionals to our already stellar team,” said Eli Shibley, president of international distribution and co-productions at IM Global Television, in a statement. “They bring with them a specific set of skills, experience, and relationships that perfectly fit our need and objectives for the roles they are stepping into.”

In December, IM Global Television launched its unscripted programming division headed up by Emmy Award-winning producer and The Gurin Company founder Phil Gurin.
