Cameras are rolling on Oxyg3n Media’s A Taste of South Africa.
The series stars British chef Matt Tebbutt as he travels across the eponymous country, sampling the local flavors and diverse foods. It will also delve deeper into the history and cultural significance of the country’s cuisine, working with local chefs and foodies.
It’s not the first time the chef has been in front of the camera: Tebbutt made his name on the Channel 4 series Food Unwrapped, which is currently heading into its eighth season. He’s also recently appeared on Discovery’s Kings of the Wild, a travel and food show, and UKTV’s Market Kitchen.
The show has already been picked up by Discovery for the African and Poland markets, and UKTV for the UK. DRG is handling distribution.
The 10-parter comes from the makers of Married at First Sight SA (on Lifetime), Brent Owners Extreme Authentic and Unwrapped (both on Discovery). Rebecca Fuller-Campbell, head of Oxyg3n Media, serves as producer.
