Karin Stjärne has been named chief executive officer of Endemol Shine Nordics.

She will oversee its businesses across the Scandinavia region with responsibilities in strategy, sales development and digital. Stjärne will report to Marcus Wolter, chair, Northern Europe, Endemol Shine Group, when she starts in April.

Prior to joining Endemol, Stjärne was VP Programme MTG Severige. It’s a role she held since January 2014. In addition to managing content on MTG Sverige FTV channels, she launched the new ad-based video on demand platform Viafree, and digital transformation projects as part of the company’s management team.

Stjärne kick-started her career in 1993 and has since held various senior roles at major Nordic broadcasters including SVT, MTG, Viacom, and TV4. She also has production experience as local managing director at Nordisk Film TV for six years. While in this role, she grew the business into a major pan-Nordic player in entertainment within the Banijay group.
