Greg Jacobs joins San Clemente, Calif.-based Nitro Circus as its new global head of media distribution.

In the newly created position, he’ll be responsible for worldwide distribution and monetization for the company’s media portfolio, which includes theatrical releases, TV specials, original series and digital content in the action sports genre based on the original TV series Nitro Circus.

The new appointment marks the company’s goals to ramp up its global distribution of its content library and original programming slate.

Jacobs joins the 30-person in-house media production team, where he will also work to develop new creative show concepts with the intent of pitching them to broadcasters globally.

Prior to joining Nitro, he was the CEO of Street League Skateboarding, a content platform for skateboarders. He also served as a strategic media and business/monetization advisor for Marriott Hotels, was the SVP of monetization at Red Bull Media House, director of business development for NASCAR media group (where he also earned an Emmy). He also founded Magellan Media, which was later sold to Post Modern Creative.
