A+E Networks has appointed former Fox International programming exec Sun Young Moon as head of content and development, North Asia.
In her new role, Moon will be responsible for content planning and initiatives for A+E across Japan and Korea. She’s also charged with spearheading expansion in local original content and overseeing program acquisitions and scheduling.
Based in Seoul, Moon will be working closely with local GMs and the content teams in both countries. She will report to Saugato Banerjee, A+E Networks GM of North Asia.
Moon made the jump to A+E from Fox International Channels, where she served as vice-president of programming and the channel head of National Geographic Channels Asia, Star World Asia and Channel [V] Asia. She first joined FIC as part of the National Geographic Channel (NGC) team in FIC Korea and later relocated to the Middle East to head up NGC Abu Dhabi where she launched Nat Geo Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Media Company. Moon then moved to FIC Hong Kong to head the National Geographic Channels Asia team.
“Sun is an accomplished programming executive whose specialized skill set is perfectly suited to achieving our goal of delivering a compelling content mix to ensure the growth of A+E Networks’ footprint in the region,” said Banerjee in a statement.
