Blend Media, a 360° video and virtual reality content and creator platform company, has hired former Endemol Shine and Jukin Media executives to spearhead the company’s business development.

James Bacon has been appointed SVP, commercial partnerships. Reporting to CEO Damian Collier, Bacon will be responsible for leading Blend’s relationships with brands and agencies in the UK and Europe.

Bacon (pictured, left) previously worked at Endemol Shine ,where he held the role of director, international brand relations. Prior to that position, he held multiple roles over a decade at Google, including head of premium content solutions for EMEA.

Also joining Blend is Greg Bond in the role of SVP licensing. Bond joins Blend from Jukin Media where he was vice-president of global licensing. Prior to working at Jukin Media, he was vice-president, film and TV licensing at Wazee Digital.

Based in the U.S., Bond (pictured, right) is tasked with a similar role to Bacon.

Blend Media is a marketplace for creators and brands/agencies looking to license and repurpose existing 360° video or virtual reality content, or seeking creators who are skilled in the complex production and post-production techniques to create new productions.

The company has supplied immersive content and creators for a number of commercial clients including YouTube, Orange Mobile, McCann Erickson and Framestore.

“360° video will be the biggest growth driver for video in 2017, and with the likes of Facebook and Google investing heavily in the space, I’m hugely excited to be joining Blend Media. With the largest, premium 360° video content library, a global network of professional creators and some fantastic product solutions in the pipeline I think we’re well placed to make premium 360° video easy for brands, agencies and media owners,” said Bacon, in a statement.

Blend Media recently announced investment from the co-founder and CEO of The LADBible Group, the co-founder and former president of Maker Studios and senior management executives from ITN Productions, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Bell Pottinger.
