Digital media co Mashable has brought a new programming lead onto the team.
Polly Auritt has joined Mashable in the newly created role of head of programming and development for Mashable Studios.
In the role, Auritt will oversee the long-form content team for Mashable Studios, focusing on visual storytelling across multiple platforms including social media, OTT and television.
Prior to joining Mashable, Polly served as VP of programming for Fullscreen, running a slate of scripted and unscripted originals. She was previously VP of scripted series development at MTV.
“Polly will bring leadership and on-the-ground experience to an important and fast-growing area of Mashable,” said Eric Korsh, president of Mashable Studios in a statement. “She’s innovative, creative and aggressive – a great combination for a team making inroads in new production models by combining the forces of our great creative talent, with our patented Velocity Technology Suite.”
Auritt will partner with Mashable’s product division to use the company’s Velocity technology suite — a proprietary software which uses analytics to inform content creation — to plan production and grow engagement. She will report to Korsh, and begins next week.
“Polly has held senior positions at digital companies, cable networks and leading production companies. She has built strong development teams in scripted and unscripted operations,” said Korsch. “She is the perfect executive to expand our LA studios and help build our future.”
According to a press release from the company, Mashable reaches 92 million-monthly unique visitors and its video views exceed 320 million per month. Its Mashable Studios division has production partnerships with NBCUniversal’s Bravo and Nat Geo WILD, among others.
