L.A. indie prodco Baker Entertainment Group has hired Daniel Herther (pictured), former Relativity exec, to oversee the company’s film and television production and development.

The company has also started production on a new doc, Walking with the Directors — an homage to the directors who influenced or encouraged director Jonathan Baker’s career, including Adrian Lynne, Jodie Foster, Taylor Hackford, Warren Beatty and Michael Bay. Baker is directing the film.

He is also the subject of the documentary, Becoming Iconic, directed by Neal Thibedeau. The film looks at Jonathan Baker’s life and history across business and creative fields as an actor, director, producer, hotelier and entrepreneur.

Baker has also announced the formation of a $5-million Barker Entertainment Fund, which will go towards ensuring the completion of low and micro-budget film projects.

“We want to make the difference for indie, experimental, and genre filmmakers for whom a small strategic investment is critical to the production of their films,” said Baker, in a statement.
