True crime network Investigation Discovery, in partnership with Weinstein Television, Jupiter Entertainment and American Media Inc. takes audiences inside the investigation of the 2011 murder of two-year-old Caylee Anthony in the new special, Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery.

In a three-night television event, ID reopens the case to reexamine the key players, puzzling actions and questionable motives behind the case. This comprehensive look into the investigation and 2011 trial of Casey Anthony for the murder of her daughter Caylee includes new evidence, insight from those closest to the Anthony family and never-before-seen footage of Casey.

The new series includes exclusive interviews with Caylee’s grandparents, Cindy and George Anthony, who provide a unique look into the inner-working of the Anthony family and how the trial of Casey still haunts them today; Clint House, a former close friend and confidant of Casey’s; Belvin Perry, Jr., the judge who presided over Casey’s trial; Russ Huekler, an alternate juror who, among the other jurors, faced public scrutiny for the jury’s decision to acquit Casey; and Kevin Beary, the former Orange County Sheriff who first investigated the case.

Other interviewees in the special include Brad Conway, former attorney for George and Cindy Anthony; Jane Velez-Mitchell and Diane Dimond, both crime reporters and TV journalists who were on the ground, covering the trial; and other key investigators and legal experts who worked closely on the case.

“This is an in-depth investigation that not only underscores our heritage in true investigative journalism but also the extraordinary talent and passion that Investigation Discovery, The Weinstein Company and the nation’s leading true crime producer Jupiter Entertainment possess in delivering a riveting television experience unlike any other,” said Dylan Howard, chief content officer of American Media, Inc., in a statement. “More than a shocking expose into one of the biggest murder mysteries in recent history, it is the definitive — and revelatory — look inside the epic case that delivered more twists and turns than any Hollywood blockbuster.”

Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery airs April 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ID.
