Nicolas Eglau is leaving his post at A+E Networks UK as chief operating officer and general manager of the Nordics, Benelux and CEEMA, after two years in the role.

Eglau, who joined A+E Networks UK in August 2015 from TRL Netherlands, will remain with the British channel operator in an advisory role until Aug. 31 to secure a smooth transition.

Further announcements will follow regarding new appointments to take on Eglau’s responsibilities.

During his two-year stint at A+E Networks UK, Eglau oversaw operating and commercial units in the UK and other territories including France, as well as divisions such as legal, financial, strategy, distribution and ad sales.

He also served as GM to the Nordics, Benelux and CEEMEA, overseeing the company’s offices in Copenhagen, Warsaw, Amsterdam and Johannesburg.

“Nicolas has played a formative role in further driving growth of A+E Networks UK since 2015. He has been pivotal in developing and executing a successful long-term strategy for the company with the strong teams he recruited and developed,” said A+E Networks EMEA MD Dean Possenniskie in a statement. “Under his leadership, our presence across the company’s international markets has grown significantly. I am pleased that Nicolas will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity through to the summer.”

At RTL Netherlands, Eglau served as a member of the executive board and managing director of ventures. Previously, he was VP of Central and Eastern Europe for RTL Group.

“I’m extremely grateful for a fantastic time at A+E Networks UK. I’ve very much enjoyed working with Dean and the team,” added Eglau. “It’s been exciting to be part of the growth and transformation of the company and I’m very proud of the success we have achieved together. I wish A+E Networks every success for the future.”
