Red Bull TV is set to air a new feature length doc, Waves For Water, which tells the story of former pro surfer Jon Rose and his mission to bring access to clean drinking water to those around the world who need it.

The 52-minute doc features personal interviews from Rose along with actors Rosario Dawson and Patricia Arquette, and others close to him. It details the events that transformed the professional athlete into a humanitarian.

The film also shows how his grass roots organization, Waves For Water, has grown to an international NGO with brand partners like Hurley, Neymar Jr, Paypal, BMW, amongst others.

Inspired by his father’s work in Africa, using filters to help people catch and filter rainwater, Rose discovered his true calling was to bring clean drinking water through the distribution of portable water filters to the millions of people around the world who need it most.

Waves For Water will air March 22 on UN-Water’s World Water Day — a day founded to focus attention on the importance of fresh water and advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. The documentary will stream On Demand on Red Bull TV which is distributed digitally across mobile phones, tablets, consoles, OTT devices and Smart TVs.
