Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman and Kevin Vargas have agreed to multi-year contract extensions with This American Life producer Left/Right, a Red Arrow Entertainment Group company.

Since its founding in 2005 by co-presidents Tarver and Druckerman, the New York-based prodco has produced hundreds of hours of television programming across a range of genres, including documentary, factual entertainment, formats, docu-soap, and scripted. Its shows include National Geographic’s Generation X; Showtime’s This American Life (pictured), The Circus and Trumped: Inside the Greatest Political Upset of All Time; AMC’s Small Town Security; History’s 15 Septembers Later; Bravo’s First Family of Hip Hop; HGTV’s Mexico Life; VH1′s Mob Wives; and several PBS ‘Frontline’ documentaries.

Vargas serves as the company’s chief operating officer, overseeing all operations, production and business affairs. In his 12 years at Left/Right, he has produced more than 1,000 episodes of television across all genres, including non-fiction series and documentaries, commercials, music videos, and scripted series.

Left/Right was acquired in 2012 by Red Arrow Entertainment Group, a division of ProSiebenSat.1 Media.

“Without the right partners, there’s no chance to succeed in our business. Finding the right partners is tough, but deciding to stay in business with them is easy,” said Red Arrow Entertainment Group chair and CEO Jan Frouman, in a statement. “Ken, Banks, and Kevin are stars — no two ways about it. They are smart, creative, well respected, and across every aspect of their business from top to bottom. We couldn’t be more pleased to extend our partnership.”

“Like most independent producers, we had concerns that being a part of a larger group would dilute our company’s culture in some way…but from the beginning, Jan and the Red Arrow team have gone out of their way to help us maintain our identity, allowing us to stay focused on the stories that we want to tell,” added Druckerman. “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Red Arrow.”
