A new spinoff has been greenlit for Spike TV’s tattoo-competition series, Ink Master.

Ink Master Angels (1×60) will follow four female competitors from season eight of Ink Masters as they travel the country, going head-to-head with other American tattoo artists in a variety of challenges.

“The [Ink Master] franchise has shown such amazing growth with our female audience that it is a natural progression to launch a female-fronted standalone competition as well,” said Chachi Senior, SVP, original programming, Spike, in a statement.

Spike has picked up the original Ink Master series for a tenth season, with plans to go into production later this year and air on the rebranded Paramount Network in 2018.

Season nine of Ink Master debuts this June along with new episodes of spinoff series Ink Master: Redemption.

Ink Master, Ink Master Angels and Ink Master: Redemption are produced for Spike by Truly Original, with Glenda Hersh, Steven Weinstock and Andrea Richter serving as executive producers. Truly Original is a subsidiary of Endemol Shine North America.

Chaz Gray, executive producer of current, original series, Spike, oversees production of Ink Master for the network and Tori Socha VP, development, Spike, oversees production of Ink Master Angels for the network.
