TCB Media Rights bolsters sales team ahead of MIPTV

Former BBC Worldwide sales manager Simona Argenti has joined London-based distributor TCB Media Rights ahead of next month’s MIPTV 2017 market in Cannes.

Argenti (pictured), who takes up the role of sales executive on April 1, will be responsible for sales across Italy, Spain, Latin America and Canada. Representation of the company’s Italian slate will transition across from Italian agent Daniela Bagliani of Full Board Media.

Argenti began her career as a sales assistant in commercial television for BBC Worldwide four years ago before rising through the ranks to an executive position, handling sales across cinema, TV, digital, DVD and merchandise.

TCB Media Rights heads to the French Riviera next week with 25 titles and 200 hours of content, including TVT Productions’ 60-minute doc Diana and the Paparazzi,Like A Shot’s Royal Murder Mysteries (6 x 60 minutes; for Channel 5) and Matchlight/GME’s Highland Midwives (3 x 60 minutes).

Love Nature International grows out sales team

Love Nature International, a JV between Blue Ant Media and Smithsonian Networks, has appointed Vince Petersen as director of partnerships as part of the company’s newly expanded sales division.

Based in London, Petersen will drive Love Nature’s SVOD subscriber acquisition growth, overseeing Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. He reports into Love Nature International MD Jo Parkinson.

The recently appointed Anthony Jewitt will remain focused on linear television sales internationally.

Petersen most recently served as a consultant at Netgem, heading up international content partnerships. Previously, he worked as a consultant at VOD service Wuaki.tv, where he assumed various senior management roles across Europe. He has also held senior sales and marketing positions with Paramount, MGM and Warner Bros. Home Video.

“As we continue to expand our global footprint, Vince’s expertise in digital programming and On Demand services is critical as we work to reach wildlife fans all over the globe with inspiring stories and family-friendly viewing,” said Parkinson, in a statement.

AMC Studios expands content distribution team

AMC Studios has boosted its executive team with the hiring of former Off the Fence exec Mark Dee-Shapland to the newly created role of head of content sales.

Based out of Amsterdam, Dee-Shapland will be responsible for selling all off-network distribution of AMC Networks-owned programming globally. He reports directly to Valerie Cabrera, senior VP of distribution for AMC Studios.

Dee-Shapland most recently held the post of VP of sales and coproduction at Amsterdam-based sales house Off the Fence.

“Mark will be an important addition to our sales team, headed by Valerie Cabrera, as AMC Studios continues to expand the slate of shows that we produce and own,” said Rick Olshansky and Stefan Reinhardt, co-heads of AMC Studios, in a joint statement.
