Indie prodco Beauty World Search has penned a distribution agreement with Singapore-based Bomanbridge Media.
The deals sees Bomanbridge Media acquire the finished 8 x 60′ series and format rights for The Fashion Hero in the Asia Pacific region.
The Fashion Hero aims to celebrate diversity and change the perception of beauty. The format follows a nationwide casting call, in which candidates are selected by various fashion and beauty brands to represent their products for a year. Candidates must then collect votes through social media, and build an audience and following online ahead of the TV series.
“We have been looking for a program that will move perfectly from a strong digital platform to an entertaining broadcast success. The Fashion Hero has a strong social media following and we are pleased to work with great talent in Asia to make this show both a digitally lucrative and channel entertainment success,” said Sonia Fleck, CEO of Bomanbridge in a release. “I think the combination of stylish unique individual empowerment, wrapped in the tale of modern fashion is a very positive and rapidly spreading online movement. This fresh approach will be appealing to brand sponsors and young audiences alike.”
Format veteran Jan Salling’s TV agency Missing Link Media has repackaged the The Fashion Hero format and readymade series for international broadcast and distribution partners and 7A Media, the Miami-based content sales company holds distribution rights to The Fashion Hero in Latin America.
