Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group confirmed it has signed a first series deal for The Wall in Germany.

To that end, Endemol Shine Germany has been commissioned by RTL in Germany to produce seven episodes of the international game show format from Glassman Media, Entertainment and Universal Television Alternative Studios.

A combination of quiz, luck and strategy set against the background of an interactive set piece, The Wall is currently ranked the number-one game show in the U.S. on NBC, where is has delivered an average consolidated audience of 6.77 million viewers and a 6.3% market share, with each episode ranked as the number-one non-scripted show of the night, according to statistics provided by Endemol Shine Group.

The format is also the highest-rated game show this year in France on TF1, delivering an average audience of 4.35 million viewers and a 22.4% market share, according to the same data.

“We’re thrilled with the show’s success in the U.S. and France and that German viewers will now get to sharein watching lives change with the drop of a ball,” said Meredith Ahr, president of Universal Television Alternative Studios, in a statement.

The Wall is due to air on RTL later in 2017.
