London-based content and media producer Zinc Media Group has appointed award-winning executive producer Roy Ackerman as managing director of Films of Record and director of international strategy, TV.

Ackerman will help grow the factual programming prodco, Films of Record, while working with senior management at Zinc to increase the Group’s business in the U.S. and global market.

Previously, he worked at Jamie Oliver’s Fresh One Productions where he expanded the company, creating commercials, drama, factual formats and documentaries including Dream School and Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. Prior to that, he was the creative director at Diverse Production before it was acquired by Zodiak Television.

Ackerman will be working with Katie Buchanan, executive producer at Films of Record.

“We welcome Roy to the company and believe his experience, creativity, contacts and enthusiasm will be invaluable in developing both Films of Record and fast tracking Zinc Media’s strategy of international growth in the TV business,” said Peter Bertram, chairman of Zinc Media Group, in a statement.
