This week’s renewed and returning includes new seasons for shows on Science Channel, Food Network, HGTV and more.

Science Channel’s archaeology mystery series Unearthed returns for a second season to dig up the hidden secrets of iconic structures from around the world. Among those investigated this season are King Tut’s tomb, Machu Picchu and Angkor Wat. Unearthed (Windfall Films Ltd) premieres on May 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

SundanceTV has renewed its original non-fiction series Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter, produced in partnership with The Hollywood Reporter, which airs this fall on SundanceTV.

The upcoming season of (14×60) episodes, will be divided into two parts, the first featuring roundtable discussions with notables from the television community, and the second, featuring actors, actresses, directors, writers and producers from the film industry.

Beach Bites with Katie Lee returns to the Cooking Channel June 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. On her travels, Lee gets a first-hand look at how the local chefs prepare the finest seafood frrom shrimp and crab cakes in South Carolina to grilled fish tacos in Florida, barbequed chicken sandwiches in Alabama, and spicy poke in Hawaii.

Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott will face-off in Galveston, Texas, for a new season of HGTV’s real estate and renovation competition Brother vs. Brother: Jonathan vs. DrewPremiering May 31, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the series (pictured) arms the brothers with $600,000 each and six weeks of time to purchase and transform unattractive waterfront homes into stunning vacation retreats. (Scotts Brother Entertainment). 

Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis return as mentors and judges on Food Network’s competition series Food Network Star, premiering June 4th at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Thirteen new competitors enter the kitchen to showcase their cooking and on-camera skills to prove to the mentors they have what it takes to join the Food Network family.

Also on the Food Network, Valerie Bertinelli and Tyler Florence return to co-host a second season of Food Network Star: Comeback Kitchen on May 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, as seven former Food Network Star finalists battle it out against each other through to the final spot in the new season.
