U.S. Spanish-language network HITN has hired Laura Masnatta as executive producer.

In her new role, Masnatta will be responsible for driving the production of original promotions for the network’s different programming blocs, including nature, lifestyle and health, as well as a forthcoming documentary series HITN has planned.

She will also shepherd the production of a new interview show hosted by Gerson Borrero, a political commentator who will have conversations with prominent U.S. political figures in Washington, D.C.

Based in Miami, Masnatta will report to Guillermo Sierra, who leads the network television and digital services team.

Before joining HITN, Masnatta led her own production house, People Project Film. There, she collaborated with industry players like Univision and Fremantle Media. She has also worked on projects with Discovery Channel, Telemundo, Vme, Mega TV and Fox International Channels Italy.

“Laura has also produced capsules for our lifestyle and health section, so we are familiar with her style, her understanding of the Hispanic market and the high standards she expects, all of which have helped build her reputation in the television production industry,” said Mike Nieves, president and CEO of HITN, in a statement
