Studio Ramsay’s “Culinary Genius” heads to the U.S.

Fox has ordered a U.S. version of Gordon Ramsay’s Culinary Genius.

The half-hour program debuted on UK’s ITV last month.  It will get a three-week test run on Fox stations this summer.

Culinary Genius sees five amateur home chefs competing to be named culinary genius of the day.

Ramsay is an executive producer of the show, while his Studio Ramsay co-produces with All3Media.

History Canada preps “The World Without Canada”

Canada’s Corus Entertainment  is set to premiere The World Without Canada on History Canada.

The three-part, 60-minute doc series will air May 31, and June 1 and 2 at 10 p.m. on the specialty.

Commissioned as part of History’s Canada 150 programming, the series is produced by Toronto’s Cream Productions in association with Corus.

The media co recently announced that Canadian actor and comedian Dan Aykroyd will narrate the doc, which explores Canada’s impact on the modern world and imagines the repercussions if those contributions never existed.

The show will be available the day after its linear broadcast on the History GO streaming app and on History.ca. It will also be re-broadcast on July 1 along with other Canada 150 programming, including 90-minute doc Searching for Vimy’s Lost Soldiers, produced by Breakthrough Entertainment, in association with Corus.

Small World’s “Grandpas Over Flowers” scores local adaptation in Turkey

Los Angeles and London-based Small World IFT’s reality format Grandpas Over Flowers (also known a Better late Than Never) will be adapted for Turkey’s Show TV.

Local producer Bloom Medya has completed filming the first season of the new Turkish version, shot in India, Nepal and Vietnam. The series is slated to air on Show TV in the summer.

The deal with Show TV was concluded by Small World IFT alongside Sera Film, its representative in Turkey.

This new local adaptation follows the recent commission of an Italian version for RAI 2 and the recommission of a second season of the US hit Better late Than Never by NBC.

Created by CJ E&M Corporation, Grandpas Over Flowers features four veteran stars as they hit the road on a backpacking adventure, navigating unfamiliar cultures and settings as they travel to various countries and fulfill challenges to tick off their “bucket list”.
