Global content studio Gunpowder & Sky is slated to open an international headquarters in London under the leadership of former Endemol Shine executive, Randel Bryan.

Bryan joins Gunpowder & Sky International as managing director. He’s tasked with upping the company’s presence abroad and will report to Floris Bauer, co-founder and president, in Los Angeles.

“We see tremendous opportunity in international markets with more OTT services emerging, and a clear demand for more youth-focused content,” said Bauer, in a statement. “As our first international hub, the UK market was a logical step, being well known for having an extraordinary creative talent pool and producing content that travels globally. With Randel coming on board, with his unique experience of building a digital-first premium content business, we are fulfilling an early ambition to accelerate our presence outside of the US.”

Before joining Gunpowder, Bryan was managing director at Endemol Shine Beyond UK — the UK the arm of the global premium channel network, Endemol Beyond, which he helped launch during his tenure at Endemol.

He also oversaw the development of DanTDM Creates a Big Scene, the division’s first YouTube Red Series. He also helped launch multiple original online channels such as Rule’m Sports where the UK’s top YouTuber, KSIOlajidebt sets out to master any sport; ICON UK, the lifestyle destination for fashion, beauty and wellness in partnership with digital pioneer and entrepreneur Michelle Phan; Legend of Gaming where the best gamers face off in the ultimate tournament, and AwesomenessTV UK.

Under Bryan’s management, these channels grew into global formats with localized versions in the USA, Germany, Brazil, France, Israel and Spain.

During his term at Endemol, Bryan also managed Beyond’s Branded Entertainment division partnering with companies such as Coca-Cola, L’Oreal and Sony PlayStation.
