UK pubcaster Channel 4 has commissioned indie television prodco Reef Television for the new four-part series Flying High with Arthur Williams.

Amateur pilot Arthur Williams, a former Royal Marine,will fly his own Piper J3 Club airplane to visit the network of airfields across the UK to unveil the history of active communities behind them.

During his journey, he will take in breathtaking views of the country at large, while in his stop-downs he’ll meet the people involved in airfield life, try his hand flying different kinds of planes, and celebrate the UK’s national passion for flying.

Williams began working with C4 in 2013 as part of the two-part series D-Day As It Happened. 

Flying High with Arthur Williams (w/t) was commissioned for C4 by Lizi Wootton, commissioning editor, features. The executive producer is Reef’s head of factual Ben Weston, with Richard Max and Alex Hearle directing.
