In this week’s renewed and returning, new seasons of shows are on tap for ABC Television Network, Investigation Discovery, History and more.
Returning for its third season, 20/20: In An Instant retells first-hand accounts of harrowing tales of survival. The series features interviews with the people whose lives were on the line and those who were integral to helping them survive. Investigation Discovery (ID) greenlit a second season of the network’s original series, Murder Chose Me from Jupiter Entertainment. Featuring stories and case files from detective Rod Demery, the series reflects on his 14 years as a homicide detective – a career he was drawn to after his own mother was murdered. In Murder Chose Me, first-person storytelling meets a gritty southern backdrop as Demery personifies how life-altering murder can be on the victim’s loved ones. Murder Chose Me will air exclusively on ID in early 2018.
A fourth season of History’s survival series Alone (pictured) returns June 15 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Alone is produced by Leftfield Pictures.
Cooking Channel’s Man Fire Food returns with (13×30) episodes featuring chef Roger Mooking who goes on a search for the most interesting ways to cook with flames. From cooking over an open fire to grilling over charcoal, Roger discovers inventive ways pitmasters and local chefs serve up dishes. Man Fire Food kicks off May 30th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on the Cooking Channel.
UK indie prodco 7 Wonder has been commissioned to produce a second series of Do You Know? for CBeebies. Tech vlogger Maddie Moate takes young viewers on a journey of exploration to understand the workings of everyday things around them in this series.
