Pubcaster BBC1 has commissioned Panda Television for the new entertainment program Wedding Day Winners.

Each episode of the six-part format will see two couples compete against one another on their wedding day. Before the couples say their vows, their friends and family must win them a host of prizes and the honeymoon of their dreams. One couple will then tie the knot and marry on screen in front of the nation.

“Panda Television is truly off to a flying start with Partners in Rhyme and now also Wedding Day Winners lined up for Saturday night slots. Moira Ross and her team, and the team at OMG have done All3Media proud with two great new commissions for BBC One,” said Jane Turton, All3Media CEO, said in a statement.

Wedding Day Winners (w/t) is a Panda Television Production — part of Objective Media Group, an All3media company — and will be executive produced by Moira Ross and series produced by Francesca Palmer. The show is slated to premiere 2018.

The show was commissioned by Charlotte Moore, director, BBC Content and Kate Phillips, controller, entertainment commissioning and Jo Wallace, senior entertainment commissioner.
