The latest installment of Unscripted and Unprepared podcast is now available on Stitcher and iTunes. Don’t miss podcast host Jimmy Fox as he sits down with Jennifer O’Connell, Lionsgate’s EVP of Alternative Programming (and Fox’s own choice for Homecoming Queen of the unscripted industry because of her solid reputation in the business as “someone you want to work with,” he says).

O’Connell takes listeners behind the scenes at NBC, where she began her career; tackling production on The Real Housewives of New York City, one of the mega reality hits she helped to propel; and what it was like to work with Jerry Seinfeld on The Marriage Ref.

“The guy knows what he wants — so professional. He expects excellence,” she says.

After joining Lionsgate in September, 2015, O’Connell has taken on the task of overseeing development and production of Lionsgate’s unscripted slate across all platforms. This summer’s slate includes 10 episodes of the game show Candy Crushwhich O’Connell calls “the perfect family game show.

Produced by Fox, president of production shop Main Event Media, in partnership with realscreen, the podcast featuring O’Connell is part of an ongoing series and is available now via iTunes and Stitcher

Unscripted and Unprepared began in late June 2016, and has so far featured interviews with legendary agent Mark Itkin,  Heather Olander, senior VP of alternative programming for USA Network and Syfy; Showtime’s Vinnie Malhotra; Spike’s Sharon Levy; MGM Television’s Barry Poznick; ITV Entertainment’s David Eilenberg; Thinkfactory Media’s Leslie Greif; Propagate Content’s Ben Silverman; Reinout Oerlemans, chair of 3 Ball Entertainment; Eliot Goldberg, SVP of nonfiction and alternative programming for AMC and SundanceTV; and Jane Latman, EVP of development and research with Investigation Discovery, Destination America and American Heroes Channel.

Fox’s credits include the Emmy-nominated CNN series United Shades of America, CNBC’s Make Me a Millionaire Inventor and Investigation Discovery’s Is O.J. Innocent: The Missing Evidence.

At Main Event Media, Fox produces a raft of series under the Main Event banner, including Spike’s true-crime series It Was Him: The Many Murders of Ed Edwards, as well as the previously announced unscripted comedy, Hollywood Darlings for POP.
