New York-based unscripted prodco Hit+Run has inked a copro deal with former Red Bull Media House executive Brian Lavin and his newly launched prodco, Bee Media.

Under the deal, Lavin (pictured, left) will create, develop and produce unscripted programming to be co-produced with Hit+Run in the U.S., Canada and UK.

He will be based in Los Angeles and work closely with New York-based Rob Shaftel (right), founder and executive producer of Hit+Run and Noah Korn, senior director of development. Shaftel and Lavin will serve as executive producers on all series.

“Brian is a passionate, dedicated and fiercely driven executive with a stellar reputation for developing and producing fresh and engaging content as well as building and growing brands across multiple platforms,” said Shaftel, in a statement. “We are excited to bring his expertise to Hit+Run as he launches his own company.”

Before launching Bee, Lavin served as a development executive at Red Bull where he specialized in brand-defining formats and original ideas, including The Horn, The Road Trick, The Post Up, Way Past Midnight and the upcoming Social Fabric.

Previously, he spent nearly a decade at Discovery Communications across a variety of departments and U.S. brands including the Science Channel, where he developed and produced series such as The Unexplained Files, NASA’s Unexplained Files and Survivorman & Son.

Additionally, he and Shaftel — then at Leftfield Entertainment and ITV respectively — worked on Oddities San Francisco, Odd Folks Home as well as Secret Space Escapes.
