Shine France executive Lionel Abbo has been named global head of digital for Banijay Group and Banijay France.

Based in Paris, Abbo will lead and coordinate the company’s digital business. He will report to Marco Bassetti for the Group and François de Brugada for France.

While at Paris-based prodco Shine France, Abbo was deputy managing director of Creation Development 360, a position he held since 2009.

Abbo began his career as a producer for MTV Networks before joining the development team at Endemol France, where he worked on Endemol’s Brand Content for Bouygues Telecom and LG.

Following that, Abbo was Tribal DDB Paris’ head of content, selling and managing content and digital communication operations for the company’s clients including Lipton, Nike, Bouygues and French Navy.

“The Banijay Group is home to some of the international industry’s best creative talents and I’m looking forward to working closely with them to develop and lead the company’s digital strategies. The digital sector is an integral and important part of the industry, whether through co-productions or distribution, and I’m excited to join such an innovative and forward-thinking company to grow their business across this arena,” said Abbo, in a statement.
