Scripps Lifestyle Studios, the social and digital production division of Scripps Networks Interactive, has launched a new global talent incubation unit designed to develop the next generation of lifestyle talent and influencers.
The Scripps Lifestyle Experts group is designed to enable the company behind HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel to expand its digital operations by sourcing new talent from social and digital media channels such as Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and YouTube.
“This new division within Scripps Lifestyle Studios will be the home of the brightest and best lifestyle experts from around the world, providing creative and commercial opportunities for the next generation of designers, chefs, travel enthusiasts and more,” said Vikki Neil, GM of Scripps Lifestyle Studios, in a statement.
Talent will be developed in the U.S., as well as through the company’s international hubs and broadcast partners, with content developed across all platforms, including television.
The move follows the creation of Scripps Lifestyle Studios in 2015 in a bid to boost short-form digital video production capabilities, with a particular focus on increasing the company’s social media and online engagement.
Many of the Scripps Lifestyle Experts are already frequent contributors to the Food Network, HGTV, and Travel Channel’s Facebook Live broadcasts, the Food Network Snapchat Discover channel, the HGTV Handmade YouTube channel and the Travel Channel Instagram account. A few examples include:
Maria Antoinette Loggins – a new contributor to HGTV’s Handmade social and YouTube channel, and is the creator of MariaAntoinetteTV, a YouTube channel dedicated to hair, make-up, fashion and DIY.
Ryan Van Duzer – A travel journalist and bicycle enthusiast who has hosted Travel Channel’s Bike Tour of California Wineries web series, as well as Microbrew Madness and America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions.
