CBS Reality commissions “Written in Blood”

CBS Reality, owned by AMC Networks International – UK and CBS Studios International, have commissioned a new true crime series.

Written in Blood (10×60) will be hosted by author Simon Toyne and produced by Endemol Shine North. Toyne (pictured) will meet with other UK crime writers to discuss how their works of fiction have been inspired by real life crimes.

Each episode will delve into a different criminal case using reconstruction, real-life footage, and interviews with family members, witnesses, experts and police officers who worked on the case.

A podcast with additional in-depth conversation about each case will be available via Acast and iTunes.

GSN makes “Snap Decision”

The Game Show Network will be producing a new half-hour game show hosted by actor and comedian David Alan Grier.

Created by Scott St. John, who has also produced Match Game and Deal or No Deal, Snap Decision puts preconceptions, first impressions and gut instincts to the test. Contestants are asked to make snap judgments about three strangers, recently interviewed on the street.

The show is co-produced by GSN and Tornante-Sinclair LLC. Executive producers are Scott St. John and Lauren Corrao.

All 4 shines a light on sexual health

All 4 will shine a light on the UK’s sexual health in a new 8×15 series produced by Firecracker.

In each episode of The Sex Testers, a stream of sexually adventurous members of the public, will walk through doors of a specially constructed sexual health clinic. The groups will reveal the most intimate details of their private lives to a team of sexual health specialists before being tested for some of the most common sexually transmitted infections in the UK.

The series will tackle the issue of rising levels of STI’s in the UK, raising awareness of the growing problem, encouraging people to use protection between the sheets and showing viewers that visiting the sexual health clinic shouldn’t feel taboo and is something everyone who is sexually active needs to do.

The Sex Testers was commissioned by All 4 editor Todd Florance. The series will be made by the Tinopolis owned indie with Firecracker Chief Creative Officer, Jes Wilkins executive producing with Sam Emmery and series producer Alice Bowden.
